SUMMARY:New Ness Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Entitled The Ness and its people\, the exhibition is running in Historic Environment Scotland’s Maeshowe Visitor Centre on weekdays from Monday\, July 11\, until Friday\, August 12. \nIt will also run on our open day\, Sunday\, July 31. \nWe’ve always wanted to display finds to site visitors but have struggled with the costs of doing so. \nThis year a grant from the Orkney Islands Council Culture Fund has made it possible\, along with the generosity of Historic Environment Scotland.

DESCRIPTION:This is an annual event and this year the programme will feature daily talks and events focused on Caithness\, Shetland and Orkney Iron Age\, on subjects ranging from textiles to recent archaeological discoveries. Keep an eye on our website and on social media for more details as they become available. \nBrochtoberfest 9th– 17th October 2021 \n Welcome to Brochtoberfest 2021\, this year we have orgainsed an online event to continue to enable our members from across the UK and beyond to enjoy this popular event\, now in its 5th year. \n This year we are pleased to welcome speakers from across Scotland and the Northern Isles to share their research and interest in all things Broch and the Scottish Iron Age. Tickets for live sessions and the Kwiz can be booked online via Eventbrite and our pre-recorded sessions will be available on the date and times indicated on our YouTube channel.  \n All events are free\, but donations are always gratefully received. This year we are pleased to have launched a range of Brochtoberfest merchandise that can be order via our online shop.
